Executive Director of Kid Power DC

Andria Tobin serves as the Executive Director of Kid Power, Inc. Kid Power inspires youth leadership by promoting academic advancement, physical and emotional wellness, and positive civic engagement in underserved communities throughout the District of Columbia.

Ms. Tobin holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from American University (2006). She graduated Cum Laude and was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society. Ms. Tobin earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree with majors in both the fields of History and Psychology from the University of Virginia. At UVA, Ms. Tobin won the Thomas Moorhead Scholarship for Academic Excellence and graduated Cum Laude.

Prior to her appointment as Executive Director, Ms. Tobin served as Director of Programs from 2005 until September 2012 where she created innovative and engaging programs, managed a staff of 40, represented Kid Power at national conferences, and was responsible for all program monitoring and evaluation processes. Also during her tenure as Program Director, Ms. Tobin significantly increased organizational capacity, forged strong community partnerships, developed a curricular library and evaluation systems. As Executive Director,  Andria has focused on creating stronger pathways to college and career success for DC youth, increasing fiscal stability,   and building a strong foundation for Kid Power’s strategic growth into Wards 7 and 8.

Ms. Tobin is a creative and dynamic leader with a deep commitment to developing supportive, healthy environments for children and families who began her professional career working in therapeutic group homes that support youth with severe emotional and behavioral challenges.
